Alanis Morrisette's Twin - Wade the Yoga Rock Star!

So quite a nice beginning to the Easter holidays and a great weekend for Yoga. There's a great Yoga workshop on this weekend - and the host is Wade Morrisette - the twin brother of Alanis Morrisette. This guy has such a presence that you can just spot him in a crowd - I was at the coffee shop before my yoga session this morning and this guy was buying coffee - instantly I knew it was Wade - we had a nice chat and then we walked to the yoga studio!

Once I heard that the workshop was going to be done by Alanis' twin - I was sold - I mean I'm a huge fan of Alanis and this might be the closest I'll probably be to the rock superstar - yes - through her twin brother.

Wade is completely awesome - his style in yoga brings in world music and great dance.  At first I was like - this crap could not be for me - I'm in no way into that sort of flower power - but I tell you after we got into the dancing I was so into it - the music was awesome and it helped the group get closer together.

Here's a pic of Alanis and Wade.

And here's a You Tube link of Kirtan Bliss - similar to our session tonight but ours was more laid back

Like I say - don't believe a word I say - try it yourself.

Anyways peeps - I still want to try Naked Yoga - so hoping I can get the confidence

See link to previous post I did on Yoga

Happy Easter!

  2. I love yoga, but I've never graduated beyond Lilias! Yoga which is typically much slower and more of a gentle yoga.

Now if I could get rid of my love handles and had a little more self-esteem - I'd be all about naked yoga.

  3. I want to do nude yoga too but I'd be more likely to try if I had a friend to go with me. I have no problem with nudity as long as everybody else is also nude.

  4. Hey JP - I have those handles too! But something about yoga melts away the initial scare...I think you look great - so one day - give it a go!

Welcome Adventure - thanks for the comment - having someone to even support such a thing is always a plus!

However VL said it so nice - there might be alot of bouncing around - lol!

  5. I do yoga, but naked yoga scares me... although I do have a series of naked yoga videos. I only can make through half of each tape before I get over-heated.

  6. Hi Stephen - I'd like to get some videos as well - I tried to look for some podcasts - but no luck. Remember - yoga generates loads of heat so you must be doing it right!

  7. The saving grace of naked yoga is that everyone is too busy thinking about what other people are thinking about them to be thinking of them. I guess that's a long way of saying that no one really pays that much attention.

  8. Hi GG - sounds true! Once your into Yoga - you just end up getting lost in yourself!

  9. Awesome Steve! How lucky you are. It is great to shake up your routine and try something different. If Didn' do that I'm not sure I could stick with yoga after all this time. I'm just excited that it has gone mainstream.

Is your reluctance to get involved in naked yoga about about the nakedness, doing yoga while naked, or not having someone to go with you?

  10. Hi Kyle - it's more of an issue to be brave and strip down in front of strangers - I'm still a bit intorvert - but if my partner goes it would make a difference! Thanks for asking!

  11. Yoga is a very sacred and pure science, originated and developed in India thousand years B.C. Although it has tremendous physical benefits, it works on the overall body. It works on the overall systems of human body ,mind and soul. Its beyond a mere physical activity. Apart from the wonderful physical benefits ,its a complete education for your body, mind and soul. TRUE YOGA MEANS SELF DEVELOPMENT, SELF IMPRIVEMENT USING YOUR BODY AND MIND AS A MEDIUM, FOR HIGHER CONQUEST WHICH IS BEYON THE MATERIAL WORLD.
so please do not pollute Yoga by such nonsense like hot yoga, naked yoga. There is no such thing as naked yoga or hot, cold yoga its all nonsense invented by someone to earn money. This will only damage your body.
Yes yoga does help in maintaining body temperature and in later stages controlling your body temperature and even your body metabolism, but all this is achieved through mind control and deep meditation.
