Hit-Girl played by13 year old actress Chloƫ Grace Moretz. Look out for her - she's already got a great repertoire of movies to her name.
I saw Kick Ass yesterday and boy was I entertained. I saw the trailer, and knew it was a Marvel comic book that was made into a movie. I also knew the story line a bit - but man - the action scenes with the 13 year old Hit Girl were some of the best I have seen since The Matrix.
The action scenes to some extent reminded me of the blood and gore of a Quentin Taranino movie - it was brutal, violent and bloody.
OK - at one point, I was thinking that a 13 year old child playing such a role where she is totally de-sensitized to violence can raise a social question or two but just take this movie for what it is - pure excitement and entertainment.
The action hero is an unlikely 13 year old, who really made this movie and kicked some ass.
Love it!

Can I take a 15 year old to see it? Thanks for the review... I wanna see it now.
ReplyDeleteYes and no - I went with one of my friends who has a 14 year old son - he said he would let his son go. There loads of swearing and intense violent action - if your daughter would not mind that then I would say yes - she can go!
ReplyDeleteIt's really entertaining!
I saw it and loved it. The movie is aptly named. Having said that, I found some of the violence so intense that I actually had to avert my eyes for some parts. Really gory.
ReplyDeletePuts "Kill Bill" to shame I think. Definitely not a kids movie or even an adolescent's movie in my opinion.
Hi Keliss - I went back again to see it yesterday and I was also hiding my face at some scenes! Def violent!
ReplyDeleteI agree 200% and I abhor violence. I plan to see it again ASAP.
ReplyDeleteglad you loved it
ReplyDeleteHi Brent - saw it twice - and still raving!
ReplyDeleteWM - next movie on my list - Elm Street the remake!
