Wedding on the beach
Yesterday, one of my good friends got married - it was a great wedding - the ceremony was on the beach and less than 30 people were there. The weather was gorgeous and the calm clear green ocean, provided the perfect background for the evening. There was even a harp player which really added a touch of elegance to the whole ceremony.
Knowing my friend - let's call him D - this is his third engagement in the last seven years, and he left the last one almost at the altar - he called off the wedding a few days before - whilst friends and family from Canada was already there for the wedding. So imagine our hearts racing when the final "I Do's" were given.
Me and my other friends were all keeping our fingers crossed and held our breath in.
Well he got through - and here's wishing them the best.
I just love the playlist - it was a bit 80's and hand picked by D - so their was:
Your Love by "the Outfield" - so classic 80's;
Some Canadian rock and loads of Country music - it was all good. And of course - loved boogying down to Lady GaGa!
Anyways peeps - thanks for reading - TTYL!

When I read about your friend's poor track record, I was reminded of a story I read back in grade school, "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall". You ever read that story?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he had a good wedding. It looks nice.
Hi - I can't say I have - but I just googled it! Sounds good!
ReplyDeleteGlad everything turned out!! Wishing them the best.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to the bride and groom, and where are the pictures of you getting your groove on to GaGa?
ReplyDeleteHi Howie - there are some pics out there! I'll see if I can get from my buddy!
ReplyDeleteHappy you had a good time Steve. Small wedding are the best! It must have been nerve wracking not knowing if your friend was going to change his mind again. Glad it all worked out and that the wedding was a huge success for the bride and groom and the guests.
ReplyDeleteHi Kyle - he's a strange one! I was betting 50/50!
ReplyDeleteI love weddings. Two notes: 1) The Jilting of Granny Weatherall is an amazing short story in a stream-of-consciousness vein. 2) Did you know that Lady Gaga's Bad Romance has been watched so many times on YouTube that if you viewed that number of views from end to end, it would take 1659 years to watch the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteYou go Gaga!
Haven't heard from you in a while - hope all is well, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHey JP - Larry mentioned "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall" in a comment in this post - I googled it - and yeah - sounds like something I should def read.
ReplyDeleteGaga is such a phenomenon - she might be the biggest thing since Madonna!
Howie my friend - miss you buddy! I'm back in touch now!
