If your a fan of the 80's then you must know and love INXS. Led by frontman Michael Hutchence, I've said that Michael was one of the sexiest stars of the 80's.
I've always found INXS's music to be energetic, lively, and just so danceable. Their music has survived the times and remains definitive for the 80's and MTV!
It was a pleasant surprise to me when I logged on to Beck's Record Club, to see that he covered the entire 1988 classic album "Kick" to his own interpretation. Each song done by Beck, is innovative, fresh and interpreted in a way that only Beck can. I've listened to all of the tracks since Kick is one of my all-time favourite albums, and this one for me stands out - "Mystify".
Beck's "Record Club" is a cool, laid back, open recording session that is like a "live coffee house" - the musicians show and record unrehearsed within the day - really cool and it just shows how talented and creative Beck really is - love 'em. St. Vincent (one of the up and coming female indie artists) also makes guest vocals on a couple of tracks (like Need You Tonight)!
Beck's next Record Club project is get this....Yanni's "Live at the Acropolis"....I actually have this album, and it's classic new age. It will be interesting to hear what Beck comes up with as it is a complete 180 for Beck!
Anyways peeps - there's some links to Beck's Record Club, so hop on over and enjoy!
Absolutely I'm a fan of INXS. I still remember buying the tape (yes as in cassette) for Listen Like Thieves... Loved it, loved Michael and loved the band.
ReplyDeleteI loved Kick, and I can't wait to hear what Beck does to it. And Michael was (STILL IS) sexy has hell. I'm even kind of excited about Yanni, too. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Rob - I remember those cassettes - I had the LP (as in Vinyl) of Listen Like Thieves and Kick....love them!
ReplyDeleteJP - Yanni is so good too! You should hop over to Beck's site and take a listen!
That was cool.
