PJ Harvey - Peel Sessions 1991 - 2004
I did a post back in March 2010 called "Noize Bizzaire - PJ Harvey" but this post was twice re-set by Blogger to "edit" status because I had posted an MP4 which I bought of one of her songs - anywho's - I'm not fussed about that, but if you look for that post (which I doubt you will) it's not there - I just don't have the energy to re-post even though the music links are dead now.
Yesterday I came across a PJ Harvey album called "The Peel Sessions - 1991-2004" on iTunes which I just had to get. This is by far, the darkest, emotional, rawest musical energy I've heard in a really long time - if you can switch to iTunes to take a listen - every song showcases the raw talent of PJ all live, which makes it even more impressive.
The fuzz sound of the guitar and her raw dark voice are really the make-up of most of the songs. Take a listen to the raw power and frustration in the song "Snake"....it's awesome.
It's wierd how I stumbled across this album - I was actualy looking for some live music by another one of my fave bands - "The Cowboy Junkies" and I came across a duet between them and PJ - when I clicked on the link it took me to the iTunes website for PJ's "The Peel Sessions"...and the rest is history!
I hope I don't get any warnings on this post.
Anyways peeps - TTYL!

Bush - 16 Stone
You tune into rock radio and one of the staples is always a Bush song - from "Everything Zen", "Little Things" Glycerine", "Machinehead" and "Come Down" - some 16 years later Bush still continues to have a presence on rock radio. All of these songs are from one album - "16 Stone" - a classic and a must have for any 90's rock fan!
Sixteen Stone was released in 1994, with not much avail and an advanced copy to KROQ in LA with the song "Everything Zen" sent this band to stardom.
There's something about this album which is so definitive - the harsh voice of hottie Gavin Rossdale (the sexiest rock star around?) -; the deep fuzz of guitarist Nigel Pulsford, or maybe the blenn of a sexy image frontman to some dirty grunge which seems to provide the best of being tamed in rock and unleashing the raw power of rock stardom....whatever it is - this band was a big part of the 1990's and in shaping the sound of rock radio in the 90's.
I've always said this was one of the best performances on MTV. Bush was carded to play at MTV's Spring Break 1996, but the concert was washed out by rain...But Gavin came out and gave this amazing solo performance of Glycerine in the rain....later he did say that he was a bit scared of being electocuted from the rain on his electric guitar!
Peeps - take it easy!

Isn't Gwen Steffani lucky? Stellar performance from frontman Gavin!

Hola for the New Year
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my fellow bloggers! I know this is long overdue, but I've never really been timely in almost anything. You have all been on my mind and I've tried to get a New Year's post out - but I've started it around three times and then got side-tracked - my apologies to all!
My fellow bloggers - HAPPY 2011!
TTYL Folks!
